You can play interactively by editing a .tex file and recompiling with pdflatex (works locally and on Overleaf), or run automated Elo tournaments against Stockfish via the UCI wrapper. Many motherboards in the late '90s shipped with audio chips providing Sound Blaster emulation. There was a version of the XA100 that had one but mine did not so I had to buy a sound card.
